As a kid, I lived on my bike. Long before the internet, mobile phones and cheap travel, childhood consisted of going out free to roam from morning till teatime, a liberty that simply doesn't exist in our modern society.

But then adulthood and a career got in the way, and the bike was set aside (or in my case, stolen from my car in Brussels).
​
Only now, after many decades, have I rediscovered the freedom of the road on two wheels, powered only by my own steam. It's been quite an experience, and a bit of a shock to the old system...
